Compost Collective celebrates a decade of composting, community, and connections

The Compost Collective whānau came together in June to mark their first decade; drawing on the season of Matariki to break bread, celebrate this milestone and reflect on what this kaupapa means to them.

They honoured the people who helped shape Compost Collective into what it is today and shared personal stories on the journey so far: the spark moments, the a-ha discoveries and the many wonderful relationships formed over the years.

  •  For some, it began with a single workshop that changed everything

  •  For others, it’s been a lifelong path of sharing their passion

  •  From compost-curious newbies to masters of the art of composting

  •  From “hating gardening” to leading workshops with love

  •  To being tipped with home-made curry

Everyone’s story was different, but the common thread was clear: composting connects everyone. Together, they’ve built something truly special, where composting and community come together like the perfect mix of greens and browns.

They’ve sent a special greeting to everyone who’s been part of this journey over the last 10 years… ngā mihi nui.
